Meet Ms. Hunter
Justine was born and raised in Hollister, CA, an hour south of Mountain View. She was introduced to the joys of working with children when she was in high school and started working at a theater camp for kids every summer. Right away she saw how exciting and fulfilling it was to be a part of the learning process as children discovered new talents and explored new concepts.
She moved down to Southern California to attend Pepperdine University, where she entered the Communications department. While she loved being creative and getting to write constantly, she realized that it was not as fulfilling as she had hoped. What she was most passionate about was working with children, creating relationships, and sharing her love of learning with others. Upon entering Pepperdine’s Teacher Education program, she got to explore this passion. She student-taught at a variety of levels, including K, 1, 4, 5, middle school science, and high school English. After being inspired by professors, master teachers, and of course, brilliant students, she was convinced that teaching was for her.
As a big supporter of hands-on learning with an emphasis on the development of the whole child, Justine is thrilled to join the Stevenson team where she will get to delve deeper into this philosophy of education with her students, colleagues, and PACT parents.
During her time at Pepperdine, Justine also played NCAA volleyball, so she still tries to play whenever she can, and she coaches during the summers. She also enjoys reading, hiking, and playing any other kind of sport in her free time.
