Amanda ClemMeet Ms. Clem

Ms. Clem joined the teaching staff in the 2017-18 school year as a member of the fifth-grade team. Ms. Clem is originally from Redlands, California and has spent the last 6 years teaching at the International School of Stuttgart in Germany, where she assisted students in developing portfolios of self-assessment and learning while leading the student council and STEAM activities after school. Before moving to Germany, Amanda taught in the Palm Springs Unified School District. Reflecting on why she became a teacher, she says, “Throughout my school years, I always had the best teachers! I can strongly say that each and every teacher on my academic journey inspired and motivated me to become a teacher.”

She was drawn to Stevenson because her personal teaching philosophy matches with that of Stevenson's, where children learn by doing and exploring. She also feels parental support within the school setting creates a strong and supportive community for all.  As an educator, she thinks it's important to educate children about the world around them and their part in it. Her goal is to develop cultural understanding, kindness, and open-minded in her students and to create a learning environment in which they feel safe to take risks.

In her free time, she enjoys traveling, running, hiking, and spending time with her family and friends. She also love game nights!!
