Meet Teresa Coughlan
Ms. Coughlan most recently taught at Castro Elementary School in the MVWSD District, where she was also teaching first grade. She became interested in teaching around the time her son asked me to teach him how to read. She was motivated to join the Stevenson PACT community because of its dual commitments to PBL and to involving parents as partners in their children’s education.
As a teacher she strives to create opportunities for student interaction, as well as student choice around curriculum that takes their interests, needs and developmental readiness into consideration. Teresa earned her teaching credential from UCSD, a Masters and Reading Specialist Credential from San Jose State University, a certificate in gifted education from UC Extension, and is currently pursuing her National Board Certification.
When she am not busy teaching, she finds herself busy learning, unless she is at the beach, or visiting Portugal (her native country).
