Stevenson PACT is proud to be a community of learners where parents continue to explore and strive to understand the school’s dynamic teaching methodologies. Parent education is key component of building this collaborative and inclusive community and an important part of growing a whole child. At Stevenson PACT, each family takes at least 10 hours of formal Parent Ed when they enter school. Parent Ed is divided into three modules that explore the school's mission, vision, and educational philosophy, help to create a common language that is used in the classroom by both teachers and parents and is based on the principles of Responsive Classroom, and gives parents practical tools for working with students in small groups and understanding different learning styles.
The classes are taught by parent volunteers with support from teachers and the school principal.
