4/24/19

Dear Stevenson Families,

We will officially start our State testing next week on Tuesday, April 30th.  Students in third, fourth, and fifth grade will be participating in math, ELA and science testing for fifth grade.  Please make sure they have breakfast, are well rested, and arrive to school on time so they do not miss the instructions.  Please let your child know that they should be confident in their abilities and use the test to show off what they know. Students should expect that there will be questions that they will not be familiar with and they only need to try their best.

Optional Input Forms

Optional parent input forms are due to the front office by Friday, April 26th.  As we prepare for next year we will begin to think about student placement in classes.  When making class placements we consider students’ academic ability, social and emotional needs, as well as fit with the classroom/teacher.

If you would like to provide additional information that the teacher does not know about your child please feel fill out the attached form (or pick one up in the office).  Please keep in mind that the form is not a teacher request form. The purpose of this survey is to gather input from you on any special concern or relevant needs you would like us to consider during the placement process. For example, you may wish to comment about peer relationships, interests, and learning style.

School Site Council

Next year our School Site Council parent members will be Carlos Diuk, Natalia Ivanova, Carolyn Xu, and Nimi Berman.  Thank you for volunteering to serve!

Warm Regards,

Rebecca Westover

Principal

MVLA Speaker Series presents two screenings of LIKE - an IndieFlix Original Film on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 | 6:00pm and 7:30pm | LAHS Eagle Theater |201 Almond Ave., Los Altos, CA.

LIKE explores the impact of social media on our lives. Technology is a tool. It’s here to stay and social platforms are a place to connect, share and care, but what’s really happening? Are we addicted? How do we stop? Where do we start? What do we need to know?

By understanding the effects of technology and social media on the brain, on our lives, and on our civilization, we can learn how to navigate it more safely together.  Released this past fall, LIKE is a follow-up to Angst: Raising Awareness Around Anxiety, an IndieFlix film about teen anxiety.

Following each screening, CHAC therapists will be available to share resources and to answer individual and small group questions.
