Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,

It is amazing to see the learning and the community building that our students receive each day from our wonderful teachers! We are also so fortunate to have an amazing librarian, Sarah Donahue, who brings our library to life and supports our teachers with resources that enhance our classroom projects and units. Mrs. Donahue is passionate about making sure there are quality book choices at every level, for every student. She is hard at work making our space inclusive and rich with perspectives and opportunity to explore ideas and facts. Books here are windows to other worlds and mirrors where students can see themselves reflected.

Tomorrow, I will be hosting a principal’s coffee on Thursday, September 30th at 9am to provide an overview of on-site COVID testing at Stevenson that will begin mid-October. A recording or the meeting will also be provided for any parents that are unable to attend.

Stevenson School Site Council Meeting

Our next School Site Council meeting is tomorrow, Thursday, September 30th at 4pm.  During this meeting, we will continue to review and discuss Stevenson’s Single Plan for Student Achievement. SCC are public meetings. If you would like to attend, please register and join using this zoom link.

Solar Panel Fencing Update

Half of the fence line is now removed from underneath the solar panels! We have moved our picnic tables so they are now underneath the shade of the solar panels.  We are also thankful for the additional ten picnic tables that our district has provided to Stevenson! Within the next few weeks, the remaining fence line will be removed and our students will have full access to the courtyard.

Grab and Go Meals on Thursdays -Minimum Days (Repeat)

Our school cafeteria provides grab and go meals for students after school on Thursdays. The meals for Grab and Go are only for Stevenson Elementary students. We are unable to provide meals to children that do not attend Stevenson. If you would like a meal for your other children that do not attend Stevenson, Castro Elementary is our district’s location to provide meals to children in our community.

Upcoming testing: The supply of test kits and personnel is increasing. As a result, we anticipate that we can start full-scale testing on campuses by mid-October. In the meantime, you may see our schools practicing testing procedures in preparation. Click here for a video showing what student testing will look like.

PowerSchool Uploads: Parents can now upload to PowerSchool the important COVID documents that will help expedite students’ return to school after a COVID exposure. Please take a moment now to upload your documentation. After logging in to https://ps.mvwsd.org/public, parents will be able to click on the “COVID reporting” icon to upload 1) students’ proof of COVID vaccination and 2) Past positive COVID test. Here’s how to upload. Let us know if you have trouble accessing PowerSchool.
