January 9th, 2025
Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,
There were 50-65 students that attended the fall session of morning class on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. That session ended at Winter Break and we will be starting a new session on Feb. 2nd. For this spring session the teachers will look at the student data and assign specific lessons for the subject and strand in which your child needs the most practice. Please watch for the Google form where you will indicate whether you would like your child to take advantage of this additional skills practice. This session will end right before the state testing and the iReady Diagnostic 3 assessment and is a great opportunity to strengthen skills in your child’s area of greatest need.
The Principal’s Coffee will be via Zoom on Wednesday, January 15th. One of our main topics will be the California School Dashboard and I will review our school ranking in each area. Interim Principal Pohlman will also be there!
Anyone with an incoming Kinder student for 25-26 school year will be able to attend the School Information NIght on January 15th (see details in the district section below). If you know of anyone interested in entering their child in the lottery please encourage them to attend.
Last, but not least, we have a new member of the Stevenson team. Alison Easley is our new teacher in 4th grade Room 10, as Ms. Bassett retired in December. Mrs. Easley has been a substitute in prior years at Stevenson and her own children have gone through MVWSD. Welcome, Mrs. Easley!
Warm Regards,
Terri Lambert
Principal, Stevenson Elementary

PACT FOUNDATION UPDATES
The next ImPACT Book club is on Tuesday 1/21/25 from 6:30-8pm in the Stevenson Library
We will be reading Save Me A Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan
This is a youth fiction book about how two boys from different backgrounds find common ground and friendship as they navigate the challenges of middle school. Discussion themes will include the importance of children's friendship as well as how to support kids around building skills and dealing with social challenges. As usual, no need to have read the book to join in the conversation. This is a great book to read or listen to over break.
See you there!
