December 18, 2024

Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,

Thank you to all who have given your input on the Outdoor Learning Proposal and/or on your priorities for use of the Prop 28 funds.   For Outdoor Learning, the architect firm is reviewing all of the input and presenting a revision to the Board in January.  After that January Board meeting, there will then be parent meetings with the Principal and the architect firm in February or March as an opportunity for parents to ask questions and give feedback.   For Prop 28 the next step is for all principals to meet with Director Chang in January to look at commonalities in the input between sites and combine hiring resources if possible.

Our 2025-2026 School Information Night is Wednesday, January 15th.  If you know of any families that are interested in entering the lottery for next school year, please encourage them to attend this information session via Zoom (see the link in the district item below).  Interim Principal Pohlman and I, as well as the Kindergarten teachers, will be presenting information and answering questions.  There are always a few spots in the other grades as well, so encouraging families of other grades to attend would be helpful as well.

My last day at Stevenson will be January 31st.  I will see you after the break and wish you all a wonderful December break with friends and family!

Warm Regards,

Terri Lambert

Principal, Stevenson Elementary

PACT FOUNDATION UPDATES

The Holiday Boutique is TODAY 12/18 - 3-5:30pm at the MUR!

Come shop, eat and enjoy all the different offerings that our Stevenson Community is offering. We are expecting more than 50 Stevenson family vendors. Oh, and there'll be live music played by Stevenson parents!

The next ImPACT Book club is on Tuesday 1/21/25 from 6:30-8pm in the Stevenson Library

We will be reading Save Me A Seat by Sarah Weeks and Gita Varadarajan

This is a youth fiction book about how two boys from different backgrounds find common ground and friendship as they navigate the challenges of middle school. Discussion themes will include the importance of children's friendship as well as how to support kids around building skills and dealing with social challenges. As usual, no need to have read the book to join in the conversation. This is a great book to read or listen to over break.

See you there!
