Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,
Happy 100th day of school! It is hard to believe that we have been in school for 100 hundred days this year. A special thank you to our teachers, students, and families for the partnership as we have grown and learned together to provide the best education for our children during this time. I am so appreciative of our Stingray community!
Parents: We want to hear from you! LCAP Survey
Our District is beginning its annual process of writing the LCAP (Local Control Accountability Plan). Your input from the survey will guide the development of our District’s three-year plan that will correspond with the first three years of the District’s new Strategic Plan 2027. These documents are the blueprints that guide all of the District’s work for the benefit of our students.

Principal’s Coffee
We will have our next Principal’s Coffee on Thursday, January 28th at 9:00am. During this Principal's Coffee, Mr. Santiago will be providing a presentation on our district’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and discussing reopening of schools.

School Site Council (SSC) Meeting (Repeat Information)
Next Wednesday, January 27th at 3:30pm, Stevenson’s School Site Council will meet virtually. There will be a presentation and update on our District’s Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) and an update on reopening plan for our district and Stevenson. Library Update- Library Book Returns
Have a library book to return? Feel free to return any Stevenson School library books to the drop box, on the cart, directly outside of the front office, Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm.
Fifth Grade Parents: Middle school info night on Jan. 28 (Repeat Information)
Crittenden and Graham both will be welcoming 5th grade families to an Incoming 6th Grade Information Night on Thursday, January 28 at 5 p.m. held on Zoom. Each site will host its own information night, and parents will receive an email from their students' assigned school with meeting login information.
This is a great opportunity to learn about our Middle Schools’ academics, a chance to meet our staff, and learn about the exciting opportunities your incoming sixth-grader will have at Crittenden or Graham.

CHAC Offers Free Mental Health Support to Parents and Students (Repeat Information)
For parents: CHAC, a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing affordable and accessible mental health services, supports parents in several ways. Please see the attached flyers for more information.
For students: PLUGGED IN - Social and Emotional Learning Skills Programs
CHAC is excited to offer two new Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Skills Programs to 3rd and 5th grade students. Both programs are a fun and enriching way to help students navigate the unique challenges they face in these extraordinary times.
1.CHAC's Weekly Virtual Group meetings focus on social interaction between participants. Through collaborative lessons and fun activities students will learn emotion regulation skills, problem solving skills as well as healthy coping and self-care skills.
2.CHAC's Independent SEL Curriculum teaches students essential social and emotional learning skills through entertaining video lessons and a variety of fun activities that students complete independently.
The parents who request the PLUGGED IN Independent Curriculum will have it emailed to them immediately.
The parents who would like their child to join a PLUGGED IN virtual group, will be contacted about scheduling options and asked to complete an online permission slip. Groups are expected to start in early January.

Community Connector
Along with all the local schools, we are looking for an individual to serve in the role of community connector to help in cases where a family at our school has been diagnosed by Covid. The connector would be notified by a district coordinator and in return would seek help within our school community to coordinate meals and any other needs. Please let Jenn Pierson ([email protected]) know if you would be interested in serving in this role for the rest of this school year.

Better Together: Poverty in America Awareness
January is Poverty in America Awareness Month and in the time of Covid-19 and the economic fallout, talking about issues surrounding poverty has never been more important. Words matter and our students know more than we often give them credit for. Talking about poverty with kids is not only possible, it's important. “Keeping the Dream Alive” College and Career Readiness Virtual Event: Feb. 1-Mar. 31
SCCOE’s Parent Engagement Program will present the “Keeping the Dream Alive” College and Career Readiness Virtual Event for 6th – 12th grade students and their parents. From February 1 to March 31, students will be able to access the “Keeping the Dream Alive” website to participate in interactive activities, webinars, and more to learn about college and career options.
