Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,

It has been a fun spirit week at school. For our last day of spirit week, students will be able to dress up! Looking forward to seeing our Stingrays tomorrow!

Thank you to all the parents that have completed the survey for virtual tutoring. Each family has received an email to consent to virtual tutoring. If you have not completed your child’s consent, please take a few minutes to do so.  This is a great opportunity for each of our students to get extra support in their academics. If you have any questions, please contact our School Community Engagement Facilitator, Mayra Garcia-Mendoza, at [email protected].

Next Friday, November 5th, is the end of the first trimester. I am so proud of all our Stingray students and staff as we have navigated the reopening of schools this year. It is great to see our students socializing with their peers and engaged in learning and projects! Report Cards will be sent home on Friday, November 19th.

Sincerely,

Ryan Santiago

Principal, Stevenson Elementary

PACT FOUNDATION UPDATES

Trunk or Treat (Hosted by PACT Foundation)

Trunk or Treat is one of our most popular events, where decorated cars are set up in the parking lot and kids wear their costumes and trick-or-treat from car to car. We are super excited about it.

Date: October 29th (This Friday!)

Times: 6-8pm - Halloween event

For our Trunk or Treat to happen this year, below are the requirements:

  • We require face masks for everyone at school social events, even vaccinated adults and kids wearing costumes.

  • After School events will follow County Health Guidance for outdoor gatherings.

All after school events are optional attendance for students, staff, and parents.

We suggest you come earlier for lower grades and later for upper grades. It's only a suggestion for the school to be less crowded.

If you would like to decorate your trunk and be a part of this ghoulish night, click on this link below to sign up!  Be creative and feel free to make it interactive.

Help Donate Candy! Please consider donating candy or small treats to be handed out from the decorated trunks. We will leave a box in the front office starting Wednesday 10/27.

Please be careful if your child has a food allergy or special dietary need.

Happy Haunting and hope to see you Friday evening!

you’d like to see a presentation that is aimed more toward families with younger students, check out the recording of last year’s literacy-focused Parent University event.

Drafts available: Single Plans for Student Achievement

Each year, our schools create Single Plans for Student Achievement (SPSAs or “site plans”) that guide the work for the coming year. These plans help us prioritize programs and strategies that will best serve our students. In the fall, elected parent representatives from School Site Councils and English Language Advisory Committees work with principals and school staff members to create a draft that is reviewed and approved by the MVWSD Board of Trustees.  Parents and staff members may give feedback through Nov. 19 to their principal and elected parent representatives to SSC and ELAC. You may review the draft plans here.
