Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,

Last night's Culture Day celebration was nothing short of magical. Our campus transformed into a vibrant tapestry of traditions, cuisines, and artistic expressions from around the world, showcasing the beautiful diversity that makes our school community so special.

The turnout was remarkable! The blacktop buzzed with laughter and conversation as students eagerly guided their families through displays and activities. Thank you to all families generously sharing beloved recipes that have nourished their families for years.

Events like these remind us that our differences aren't just to be tolerated but celebrated. In learning about each other's cultures, we expand our understanding of the world and strengthen our bonds as a community. As I looked around the blacktop last night, seeing students, parents, and staff connecting across cultural boundaries, I was reminded of why I love my job and am honored to be a part of this incredible school.

Thank you to our dedicated parent committees, parent volunteers, and staff who worked tirelessly to make this event possible. And a special thank you to every family who participated - your willingness to share your heritage enriches us all.

My heart, like my stomach, was full as I left campus last night. This is education at its finest - learning from and with each other, celebrating our unique identities while finding common ground in our shared humanity.

With gratitude,

Megan Pohlman, Principal

MVWSD is seeking parent and community input through a virtual focus group on April 23 at 4:00 pm. If you are interested in joining this focus group, please click the link to apply no later than April 17.
