Dear Stingray Parents and Guardians,

Our school and district continue to focus on the health and safety of our students, staff, and school community. This week, parents received an important email from our district regarding on-site COVID testing and a new process for parents to upload COVID documents into PowerSchool.

Here are some of the highlights from the email:

*The supply of test kits and personnel is increasing. As a result, we anticipate that we can start full-scale testing on campuses by mid-October.

*Click here for a video showing what student testing will look like.

*Parents can now upload to PowerSchool the important COVID documents that will help expedite students’ return to school after a COVID exposure.

*Click here for a video that shows you how to upload documents.

Please check your inbox for the email from [email protected] for more details on COVID testing, how to upload your child’s COVID documents to PowerSchool and how to up the effectiveness of kids’ COVID masks.

I will also be hosting a principal’s coffee on Thursday, September 30th at 9am to provide an overview of on-site COVID testing at Stevenson. A recording or the meeting will also be provided for any parents that are unable to attend.

New Stingray Staff

We are excited to introduce and provide more information about two or of our new Stingray staff members that are here to help our students and parents!

Ernesto Nassau - At-Risk Intervention Supervisor

Mr. Nassau has a wealth of knowledge and experience, working at our District for over 10 years, both at elementary and middle schools.  He has been responsible for assisting students and families in a variety of areas by serving as a resource regarding community agencies, parent engagement, parent education, and other activities that are linked to strong, positive student outcomes.  As an At-Risk Intervention Supervisor at Stevenson, Mr. Nassau will focus primarily on providing support in the areas of student attendance, engagement, and behaviors, and be a guide in academic and non-academic activities.  You can reach Mr. Nassau at [email protected]

Mayra Garcia-Mendoza - School and Community Engagement Facilitator

Mayra Garcia-Mendoza has experience in Social Services and Community Development. Mayra’s personal experiences have fostered a strong sense of empathy, curiosity and resiliency. While acquiring her undergrad degree from UC Riverside and prior to working with our district, Mayra ran a volunteer group to feed the homeless and to provide a safe place for the undocumented population seeking legal advice. As our School and Community Engagement Facilitator, Mayra will leverage her experience in social justice education and community development by helping our community reach all the resources available, regardless of their socioeconomic status. You can contact Mayra at [email protected]
